Originally from Oklahoma, Bob and Mary Michele Beaty moved to Colorado in the early 1970’s and spent 30 years as educators in Jefferson County Public Schools. They were fortunate to teach in two schools together, Evergreen High School and Chatfield Senior High. Since retirement, Mary Michele has worked as an online instructor, a planning consultant, and as an editor for several technical publications. As a former English teacher, reading is a passionate pass-time along with volunteering for several organizations which provide educational opportunities and financial support for deserving students. Golfing and traveling also frequently appears on her agenda.
However, her son, Shaun, daughter Cindy, and their families are the source of her greatest joy and pride, as it was for their father and grandfather. Together the family is pleased to be able to continue Bob’s legacy of encouraging and helping young men and women.
Mary Michele is grateful for the enthusiastic support given by extended family, friends and former students and colleagues who support the philosophy and goals of the Bob Beaty Foundation.
Shaun Beaty, Ph.D.
Dr. Shaun Beaty
Shaun Beaty is the Director of Digital Learning at Mary Lou Fulton”s Teaching College at Arizona State University where he wears many hats including designing and developing online courses, implementing new educational technologies, and managing an eLearning development team. Additionally, Shaun teaches a variety of online courses including technological and educational theory classes.
Shaun received his BA in Social Science/Education, his M.Ed with an emphasis in Education Technology, and completed his PhD in 2016.
While not at work, Shaun enjoys playing golf, boxing/kickboxing, practicing golf, cycling, watching golf and spending quality time with his family.
