Coach Beaty was an incredible athlete in his own right. He was a three sports athlete: football, basketball and track. He was a member of two state championship teams and attended Oklahoma State University on a football scholarship until a knee injury ended his college football career. There are many former students who later in life realized having Coach Beaty in their foursome meant winning golf tournaments.
